Hello!

My name is Joe and I would like to help you learn English. My lesson style follows the communicative approach (lots of talking) with a lot of comprehensible input to help you understand and internalize the language. We will work with four different areas of language acquisition: meaningful input (reading/listening), meaningful output (speaking/writing), fluency, and language focused learning (grammar, usage, and mechanics). I will also help tailor our lessons to your needs to make it meaningful, useful, and fun for you!

I have a master's degree in education focusing on English as a second language (ESL) teaching. I am also a certified teacher endorsed by the University of Nebraska and have been teaching ESL for nearly 15 years to students of all ages and levels. I am now a PhD candidate in instructional technology researching distance learning and ESL/EFL education. I also have numerous certifications such as TESOL, task-based ESL/EFL reading education, online distance education, and family literacy.
