Hello!

My name is Lily and I work as a substitute teacher in the US public elementary school system. As such, I am used to working with children aged from 5 to 12, and I have a passion for working with children in a kind, fun, encouraging, and engaging environment! I have a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Central Florida and believe that proficiency in language and communication is an invaluable key to unlocking professional successes and personal adventures.

Despite mostly working with children, I am open and eager to work with all ages! I like to teach in open, personable, and conversational style lessons where it is safe to make mistakes. If you are still attending school and are receiving homework or assignments, I will gladly assist you (though I won't simply give you the answers, of course!) I like to encourage my students through their challenges and celebrate their accomplishments.

Some additional information about me: I am a beginner to intermediate Japanese language learner myself, and I attended a language school in Tokyo in the summer of 2019. I have traveled to Japan four times and intend to ultimately teach there in the coming years. Despite my ongoing attempts to learn Japanese, I am still limited in my ability to speak it. I am also semi-conversational in Mandarin Chinese. I understand the challenges of learning a new language so having patience is crucial in helping my students! You can do it and I can help you!
