Hello my name is Teacher Amy,
I live in the mountains in Alberta, Canada with my husband and two girls. I have 20+ years experience teaching and tutoring children and adults in multiple disciplines. I enjoy watching my students grow and gain the confidence to learn and speak English. I love sports especially skiing and mountain biking. When I am not teaching, you will find me playing sports, playing with my girls or tending to my flowers in my garden.

When I teach, I am patient, I let my students make mistakes and have them practice with me to correct them. I model and then repeat. When I see that my students is succeeding I use a lot of praise and show them they are doing a great job with virtual high fives and other words of encouragement.

I have been teaching for more than 20 years, in class and tutoring in the homes of my students, in person and over the internet. I truly enjoy helping people learn and it has become a strong passion of mine.
In class, I have worked with students in Kindergarten through to grade 12. My teaching strengths in English are reading recovery, reading retention, reading comprehension, early reading, advanced reading and book reviews.
