Hello! Nice to meet you my name is Maddy. I'm currently a university student, I go to New York University (NYU), and I'm pursuing an English and Dramatic Writing double major; that alone should tell you I love to read and write. I base all my career and educational decisions on the premise that literature is a large part of who I am.
My lesson plan would be very relaxed. I feel when teaching people any language, it is important to build that relationship. I've been taking French since I was 13, and every professor I've had took the "I'm your friend, not your superior" approach, and it worked well! My job is to make you feel comfortable, just like my French professors did for me. So, after we assess where your strengths are in your English, we can dive into those parts you may get confused about. We can do this in an untraditional classroom way. If you like films and movies, guess what-American films use dialogue, meaning they incorporate ENGLISH; so, we can 100% use films as a lesson plan. Or maybe you like to read! We can choose a book (your favorite genre or mine) and dive into the pages together. Think of it as an intimate book club!

At the end of each week or month (whichever is your preference), we will evaluate/ reflect on what we have done together. We can talk about things you liked, things you did not care for, and things you want to do differently. The goal is, after some time together we will have curated a perfect lesson plan that works just for you.

I am currently a university student pursuing my bachelor's. My major is in English with a focus on creative writing and Dramatic Writing. Alongside Uni-Language I am a part-time Writer/ Team lead at Yarah Magazine, Newsletter Journalist/Instructor at the I Will Graduate Youth Program, and freelance writer in my free time. My prior experience includes working as a tutor at my high school, being a grader at my local tutoring center, and chess instructor at Chess Wizards for public schools in the DMV area.
